Experience is obtained from attacking the castles of NPCs and fellow Opulencians.
Once you earn enough experience, your hero will level up, acquiring a new skill and allowing you to wear more powerful equipment. Gaining levels also allows one to further upgrade their castle heart, and overpower other castles with greater ease.
Experience rate is modified by the following:
- Difference in hero level to castle level
- Progression modifier
- Equipment
- Special promotions
As of July 22, 2015, there is a level cap of 30.
