Pets, in addition to being absolutely adorable, accompany you whenever you loot a castle, collecting the loot so that you don't have to! What they collect can be set in Settings.
Pets are immune to damage and are not affected by effects.
Pets can be purchased using 
bling from Cornelius' Emporium or as rewards for certain promotions or purchases.
A limit of one Mr. Squiddlins may be purchased for 
Gold.
